Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences' Stavropol Research Institute of Agriculture (SRIA) and Space Research Institute (IKI) are collaborating to conduct researches aimed to develop remote sensing methods for annual land use and crop types mapping and yield assessment at the regional level.

JECAM test site in Stavropol kray (SRIA) was established in April 2014. The test site consists of two levels: regional (Stavropol kray) and local (experimental fields), which are different in functional assignment and frequency of measurement of biophysical and chemical parameters.

Weekly LAI (Leaf Area Index) data is collected. In addition reference data on location of crop presence and types is collected over larger areas.
